Is Inki made by Notion?
No. Inki is an independent app built for Notion users. It uses Notion's official API and OAuth, and it's listed in Notion's integration directory. It's not affiliated with or endorsed by Notion Labs, Inc.
How is Inki different from Notion's own apps?
They solve different problems. Notion's Agents app is AI-first capture: you hand it a thought and an agent decides where it goes. Inki is exact capture: it reads your database's real properties (Status, Priority, Due date, relations) and lets you file an item precisely, in one keystroke, with no AI in between. Inki is also a true Mac menubar app with a global hotkey, works offline with a sync queue, and runs with no server: your token stays in your device's Keychain and captures go straight from your device to Notion.
Where does my data go?
Directly from your device to Notion. There's no Inki server in between, and Inki doesn't store your notes. Your Notion token is kept in your device's Keychain.
Do you track me?
The app tracks nothing: no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs, and your Notion content never touches our servers. This website uses privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics (aggregate visits and referrers, via Cloudflare) with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no personal data collected.
What can I capture into?
Any Notion database you share with the integration. Inki builds the right fields from that database's properties automatically, Status, Priority, Due, Tags, relations, and more.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Captures queue locally and sync automatically when you reconnect, with automatic retry. You never lose a thought to a dropped connection.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS (a menu-bar app) and iPhone (an app plus home-screen widgets). Inki requires macOS 15.2 or later, or iOS 17.0 or later.
Is there a free trial?

Can I change the hotkey or theme?
